John F. Middlebrook

President

John F. Middlebrook launched 3D Leadership, LLC after a successful career with Kepner-Tregoe, Inc., an international management-consulting firm based in Princeton, New Jersey. Mr. Middlebrook culminated 15 years in management at Kepner-Tregoe as managing partner, North America and a member of the Board of Directors.

Throughout his tenure with Kepner-Tregoe, Mr. Middlebrook was directly involved in the delivery of strategic and operational consulting services.

He has worked across a wide range of industries and organizations, where he gained extensive experience implementing quality and process- improvement initiatives, such as TQM and Six Sigma programs. In this context, he has focused on strategy formulation and implementation, decision-making and project management systems, performance management, and organizational development.

Also, in the course of working with executive teams, Mr. Middlebrook developed an executive-coaching process that complements 3D Leadership’s core competency deployment model. His work with hundreds of senior leaders, across a wide variety of organizations and cultures, has given him practical and relevant coaching expertise.

In addition, Mr. Middlebrook has an extensive background in curriculum design and issue-focused training models and has delivered a range of skill-transfer solutions to clients around the world.

While at Kepner-Tregoe, Mr. Middlebrook was responsible for the New Consultant Development Practice and for all hiring and development of new consultants worldwide.

Mr. Middlebrook’s clients include a wide range of multi-national Fortune 500 firms as well as numerous non-profit organizations.

He is a frequent guest speaker at conferences and is the principle designer and author of 3D Leadership’s products and services.

Before his business career, Mr. Middlebrook taught sociology and anthropology at DePaul University and the University of Illinois. In recent years, he served as a visiting instructor at the Illinois Institute of Technology and as an adjunct professor at the University of Chicago’s Graham School.

Mr. Middlebrook received a bachelor of arts from the University of Michigan and a master of arts from the University of Chicago.
